Music Producer/Composer

Jeff Ganz draws his music production expertise from a rich and diverse musical history.

 

Jeff has appeared on Grammy-nominated recordings, on television, and on the world’s concert stages with Marvin Hamlisch, Johnny Winter, Rita Moreno,  New York Pops, Karen Akers, Gerry Mulligan, Laurie Anderson, Marilyn Michaels, Clint Holmes, John Gabriel,  Ben Vereen, Brooklyn Philharmonic, Tony Martin, Cyd Charisse, Mimi Hines, Anthony Newley, Joey Heatherton, Christine Ebersole, Village People, Kathy Lee Gifford, Stephen Schwartz, Darlene Love, Frankie Avalon, Eddie Fisher, Cleo Laine, and Blood Sweat & Tears, amongst many others.

 

Jeff worked on many hit Broadway and off-Broadway shows.  In addition to playing bass, Jeff’s musical input was deemed valuable by composers Andrew Lloyd Webber, Jim Steinman, and Roger Miller. Jeff also played bass in the pit orchestras of “Barnum”, Dancin’”, “Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”,  “Cats”, ”Big River” (with John Goodman, Bob Gunton, Rene Auberjonois, and Patti Cohenour) “Starlight Express” (with Jane Krakowski and Andrea McArdle), “Big”, “Damn Yankees” (with Victor Garber and Jerry Lewis), “Hello, Dolly!” (with Carol Channing), “The Gershwin’s Fascinating Rhythm” (with Darius DeHaas and Orfeh), “Hair”, “Haarlem Nocturne” (with Andre DeSheilds and Marc Shaiman), “Preppies”, and at Radio City Music Hall. Jeff was also featured on camera in NBC’s hit show “Smash”, and on ABC’s “Good Morning America”. 

 

 

As a producer, the CD he co-produced, mixed, and played bass on for Nina Hennessey (“Cats”, “Woman Of The Year”, “Bye Bye, Birdie”, “Dreamgirls”, Les Miserables”) won several awards, including “Best Jazz CD” from broadwayworld.com.

 

Jeff also composes original music for television and other media. His compositions are heard weekly in Investigation Discovery’s flagship show “On The Case With Paula Zahn”. 

 

Consistently demonstrating an innate sensitivity to artists and students alike, Jeff also enjoys serving as musical director, consultant, and teacher.
